Kerrpow!

As many of you who keep up with any of the numerous comics blogs on the web will know, nerd-rage can be a powerful thing. The fact that it is so powerful is not something I approve of, Nerds seem to think that just because they're obessive about something they own it, it tends to get in the way of innovation sometimes and certainly leads to some extremely moronic "Debates" The most recent of these centres around the recent rise of Dick Grayson(formerly Robin/Nightwing) to the position of Batman, replacing the now deceased Bruce Wayne. In a recent preview posted by DC comics on Facebook for an upcoming issue, Batman was seen wielding dual pistols. Instantly, and without any pause for thoughts of context, the comments box below exploded with the same old tired arguments of "Canon" and, for the first time in a long time, I found myself thinking...Who gives a shit? DC invented the Batman Canon! They can do whatever the hell they want! For the first time in years, so...

Continuing my focus on Batman, I thought it was time to write something about the only thing in Gotham cooler than Batman himself: Arkham Asylum. As a coimcs geek, I already knew that the asylum, the final destination for some of Batman's greatest enemies, was pretty cool. But it was only after playing the equally cool Arkham Asylum game this summer that I began to reconsider it, not as a geek but as a writer. For any writer, devices like Arkham are a dream come true: A massively varied and self contained universe were any number of stories can take place any one time, not simply involving the patients but the staff, vistors and, of course, the dark knight himself... Hello again! I'm back at University and finally free to delve full on into the world of comics once more. Today, as you may have guessed from title,( or not guessed depending on if you have a life) I am gonna be foucusing on Batman. Batman is awewsome, people may try to tell you otherwise but these people are wrong! Why? Because it's Batman that's why! Let's think about this serously for a second. Stupid costume aside, Batman is essentaily a ninja who drives an F1 car. Now I'm not an expert by any strecth of the imagination, but I'm pretty sure that if you dropped Batman into the middle of Milton Keynes, this whole knife crime thing would be over.
